SBM MECHANICAL SYSTEM
Powerful spring motor with high precision governor
(drives 5 m 16.5 ft of film with a single winding).
The camera can be fitted with an auxiliary electric motor.
Shutter with variable opening angle (with
the camera stopped as well as while filming); maximum opening
135¡; shutter closes when camera stops.
Operation: normal foward motion, continuous and single-frame
filming, full rewinding with hand crank. Automatic
threading; spool ejection; loop former.
Filming speeds 12,16,18,24,32,48 & 64 fps + single
frame.
OPTICAL SYSTEM
Reflex fiewfinder with light captured through
exceptionally sturdy, swivelling, misadjustment proof prism,
mounted in front of the shutter. No flicker;
picture always visible. Fine ground glass
on prism itself. Magnification 13 x.
Adjustable eyepiece: ± 5 diopters. Rubber
eyecup, directional and can be folded over.
Viewfinder light trap. Field of view corresponding
to standard 16mm projection field. TV frame:
8.40x6.30 mm; R=1.7 mm.
Field of View on Normal 16mm/Super 16mm Camera. Camera
has switchable front plate for centering the field of view
for Super 16 S and Normal 16 N.
When front plate is set on S entire 1:1.66
field corresponds to blow up for 35mm or projection on special
Super 16 projector, arrows show the 1:1.33 field for normal
TV and wide screen TV letterbox, full width 1:1.77 for wide
screen TV and HDTV. When front plate is set on N

Extremely rugged bayonet lens mount.
Bearing on three small tongues.
Centering diameter: 60mm. Focal flange distance:
23.22 mm. Easily adapted for most "C" mount
lenses with special adapter plate. Focal flange
distance: 23.22 mm (17.52 mm .690" with adapter for
"C" mount).
Built-in, retractable, filter slot for gelatin
filters.
LIGHT METER
The H16 SBM spring camera can be equipped with the Vario-Switar
100 PTL or 100 POE-4 lenses with built-in light meter, which
automatically sets the diaphragm during filming. We also
offer an optional built-in light meter.
SYNCHRONOUS SOUND RECORDING
Camera equipped with ESM auxiliary electric motor: With
speeds of 10, 18, 24, 25 or 50 fps. Speeds of 24
and 25 fps stabilized according to sync pulse standards.Crystals
are available in the following configurations: 24/25 fps
with 50/60 Hz pilotone pulse signal. 24/25/30 fps no pilotone.
23.976/29.970 fps no pilotone.
The 29.970 and 30 fps will require serviceman adjustment.
Maximum deviation with any of the crystals for 400 ft of
film: less than one frame. Another USA made after market
motor allows filming from 5-60 fps crytal controlled
GENERAL
Capacity: all single or double perforated 16 mm films on
100 ft spools; possibility of fitting 400 ft magazine.
Frame counter. Counter in feet
or meters. Front release for normal operation.
