The Bolex Switar lenses available are imported and distributed in the United States by authorized Bolex Distributors. Buying a brand new set of Bolex Switar lenses in 10mm, 25mm 50mm and 75mm is a tremendous value, however, there are limitations to these lenses. The markings tend to be very small and difficult to read. If you are looking to rack focus - forget it.

We cannot advise you on the the benefits of using new or used Bolex lenses for your project. The new Switar lenses are of Zeiss quality and cost around $1,500.00 each. The older lenses are comparable to older Zeiss glass. These lenses are super sharp. If you would like to buy these lenses new they will need to be special ordered.

The Bolex PL Mount adaptor makes the Bolex Camera a more useful camera for commercial, music video work and second unit film work. We do not discourage the use of Bolex Lenses; each cinematographer has his own preference. The Pl Mount extends the range of this excellent camera and offers the benefits that professional lenses offer.
